40GRID provides an end-to-end solution for field service companies to schedule their mobile workforce, capture their team's knowledge, and run their business. While at 40GRID, I led product—first, as Director of Product Design and Development, and then, as Chief Product Officer. My role was multifaceted. It involved UX research, product design, managing the development cycle, and QA. I was involved in all aspects of the product to help swiftly get good ideas designed, built, and into the hands of our customers.

As is the stimulating nature of a branding and design agency, my projects with WHQ spanned across multiple industries (from early-stage startups to global institutions) and forms (from simple websites to complex enterprise applications)—each with vastly different problems to solve. From WHQ's office in the West Loop of Chicago, I wore many hats – shape-shifting from designer to developer to manager as needed.
MarketMuse

MarketMuse uses AI to measure content quality by analyzing thousands of articles on a topic to help identify opportunities that improve a site's potential rank for search terms. It's an enormously complicated process behind the scenes. But the challenge – and my primary focus as the sole marketing and product designer – was to make it feel effortless yet meaningful for SEOs, Content Strategists, Editors, and Marketers. In my two years with MarketMuse, we went through many iterations, of both the marketing site and product, culminating in the initial exploration of a brand new product built from the ground up. With the help of the remarkably talented team, I created the first mockups (below) for the now-released MarketMuse Suite. These were used to secure a round of funding and to fuel the internal discussions of the next phase of MarketMuse.
Not only is Jarrod a senior designer for web and UI, he's also a front-end developer and helps with product management, including translating problems into tasks clearly and concisely for team members. He works well remotely, communicates well with the team and is a self-starter: he sees what needs to be done to meet goals and can find solutions without needing explicit instructions.
Weleet
Roles
Skills
Form
Weleet’s goal is to help freelancers and independent workers connect, cowork, and share personal coworking spaces. In collaboration with the company's founders, I helped shape the look and feel of the Weleet experience for both the web app and marketing site. Given wireframes for the user's journey, I was tasked with proving out workflows, optimizing UX, and creating dynamic, customer-obsessed designs.
Jarrod is a talented, ambidextrous (he writes as well as he designs) web and app designer. A great communicator and thoughtful problem solver, he brings smart, efficient and insight-driven solutions to his all of his beautiful designs and is flexible, adaptable and able to work with grace under pressure. On top of that, he can code, which is a huge boon and helps him fit seamlessly into teams large or small. It’s always a pleasure to work with Jarrod.
